Our Story
Wow Diner is the product of the late Bill Sorenson and his Best Friend Stephanie Matkovitch respectively the former owner and manager of the La Ventana Steakhouse and Iron Blossom Bar in Grants. Bill Sorenson created a legacy when he opened the La Ventana, treating each person that walked through his doors like they were his most important customer. Stephanie began working for Bill in her teens and continued to work with him for many years. Stephanie eventually learned every job in that restaurant. Through those years the once shy teen who began as a busgirl became the amazing business woman she is today. Focused on customer service, quality, and price. Due to health reasons Bill decided to sell the La Ventana Steakhouse with intentions to retire, but shortly after in May 2006 Bill & Steph teamed up again determined to wow the community. They thought that RT66 needed a fun retro style diner located just off the old mother road now Interstate 40 exit 79 in the Village of Milan. The goal was to draw people to take a break from their drive and provide them a place to enjoy a delicious meal, a fresh cup of coffee, and a friendly smile. We have been in business for over 12 years now and we still strive to make our customers come in and say WOW during their visit.
